Lip-Sync Mapping

Use the Lip-Sync Mapping dialog box to automatically apply a lip chart you generated from a voice track to an element that contains drawings of the eight lip positions of the animation phonemes.

When you apply the lip sync mapping to an element, Toon Boom Studio automatically labels each cell in the element so that it matches the lip chart.

To speed the mapping process, name each lip drawing with the phoneme it represents: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, or X (for silence).

If you did not use this naming convention, you must identify the drawing name that represents each phoneme in the selected element in the Mapping panel. For example, if your drawing for the “A” phoneme is called “1”, then you must type 1 in the A field.

To open the Lip-Sync Mapping dialog box:

1. Select a sound element that you have computed the lip chart for.

2. Control-click the title bar of the element and select Modify Lip-Sync Mapping.
